The workshop is part of the activities of the thematic year on Discrete and Algorithmic Mathematics that is arranged in the Department of Mathematics during the academic year 2006/2007.

The topic of the workshop belongs to combinatorics on words and combinatorial number theory related to Fibonacci numbers. The talks given by the key speakers will cover a broad area varying from a general survey to applications in combinatorial games.

In addition to invited talks we call for contributions that contain original results or surveys on special problems of words. We also encourage submissions that treat applications.
